BMS Vanagon Upper Control Arms – for Lift Springs
Product #: 251 407 047B
Perfect for the person who has installed lift springs up to 1.5 ” lift springs or combination of shorter springs and spacers up to 1.5” of lift.
These are the New and Improved Burley Motorsports BILLET ALUMINUM upper control arms made to meet the demand of the 2WD-crowd, who also want to take their vans out into the high country!
Just like our Syncro arms, these 2WD arms are also adjustable, allowing proper alignment specs to be achieved, saving your tires from premature wear. Like all our arms, these use our BMS “new gen” heim joints which also feature grease zerk fittings to ensure that everything stays lubricated and quiet. These eliminate the inferior stock bushings and are far superior to flimsy squeak-plagued urethane upper arm bushings that are sold elsewhere.
All our arms come in a red anodized finish.
These arms are engineered to work with stock length shocks. They are not engineered to withstand the additional load that longer shocks or shock shaft extensions will add to the arm. ( Front shocks, for many reasons, will not work well with anything longer than stock. We have done a ton of testing on many different dampening systems. We worked with the premiere off-road experts to perfect all aspects of a suspension system, in which shocks play a huge part. For more information on shock anatomy, see The Perfect Vanagon Shock System.)
As always, this product is made Burley, right here in the USA!
2WD Vanagon, lifted 1.5-2″
2 adjustable arms
4 cam washers
**Our control arms come with a very nice, red, anodized finish. Rarely, but at times, they come in slightly different hues from the batch prior. We have no control over this. We take the utmost care in packaging our control arms because we take pride in them. A slight blemish or a very minor change in the hue in no way diminishes the performance of this part. We do not accept returns for this reason.
This is a piece of art for my van! I am finally ready for the road! Thanks!
Gave my van the control to set the camber correctly with GoWesty lifted Springs I finally pulled the plug and bought the GoWesty lifted spring kit. I wanted more clearance for dirt/gravel roads and the dip in front of my driveway. However the alignment shop couldn't get the alignment correct. I said the heck with it, but after a 5K trip the wear on the tires was noticeable. These arms plus new bolts as I had the original ones on my 2WD '81 and it was an easy install. The alignment shop of course took them back off, and adjusted the length to get the camber right and I now have a perfect front end. Well this is a 40 yr old van. And I couldn't be happier. Am looking at the big brake upgrade next. Just need to find '86 or newer spindles... and probably new bushings... BTW, the alignment shop was impressed with these, as were some of the customers who saw them.
Looked amazing when I unpacked them, but they look even better on my van! So nice. I am very happy!
Glad you make these for the 2WD now. Been waiting. Mine are very nice, and shipped very quickly.
